We really enjoyed working with Dennis and his crew. He stopped by in person on the first day I called and was very responsive, thorough and fair in his pricing. His original estimate was the same as what he charged and the finished front yard is now beautiful. We went from being the ugliest yard on the street to one of the prettiest. He was able to add sod to a steep hill that was full of weeds and plant beautiful hard-scaped planters with gorgeous flowers to add color and texture. We are very happy with it and would absolutely recommend Dennis for any type of residential landscaping project. We now want to have him tackle our back yard to make it gorgeous too.

Dennis and his crew were great! We had to wait awhile to get scheduled because they stay busy, but there's a reason for that. He's good and very fair. Everything turned out so good. We have people driving by, stop, roll down the window and tell us how great the lawn looks. We had a really steep slope and another that was just full of weeds. He cleaned the weeds out, put down good quality sod and did a beautiful hardscape and plants design on the steep slope.

Relandscaped our teeny backyard with a flagstone patio, flower beds, vegetable garden, azaleas and drip line watering. He recommended a local architect who designed our covered outdoor grill area too. Everything looks great and is almost 3 years old.

I wanted to get my yard landscaped as a surprise to my new wife while we were away for the month, and Dennis went above and beyond to make it happen within my budget. He came out and took a good look at the yard and talked through everything with me, then made a list of what needed to be done, and then he did it all and exceeded my expectations. Dennis and his team went above and beyond, and it was wonderful to come home to a new yard. I can't wait to use his services again in the fall.

Dennis and his crew bring their own good ideas to the job, often convincing me with better ideas than my own. Written estimates are both timely and very reasonable. They also seem to be able to fit me into their schedule even though I tend to use them only during busy spring and fall plantings. Their "fescue to the rescue" services in the fall also keeps my front lawn looking better than when it was originally sodded.

I recently contracted with Dennis and his crew to do some renovations to my yard as well as monthly maintenance. Dennis has been fantastic to work with, delivering above my expectations and at a very reasonable cost. Dennis and his group did a great job in front of our home. They installed a new rock retaining wall, new sod, and a small landscaped area on a steep section of our front lawn. He listened to our ideas for the yard, came up with a great design and communicated it clearly, and all of the work was beautifully done. He could see that we had our hands full with a toddler and newborn and installed a simple but effective irrigation system for the sod that didn't require me to move sprinklers around every day. I'd definitely hire him again for a big project like this.

Dennis & Above the Hedges have been so helpful for many of our outdoor needs. We hired Dennis to design a landscape plan for us and plant a new set of trees in our backyard. The plan was well customized to our needs and the local climate. Dennis is very thoughtful in the particular types of plants and trees he selects and in his method of planting. The work was done quickly and efficiently and, best of all, you could hardly tell that anyone had been digging up the yard. A couple of years ago my garden designer recommended Above the Hedges to replace my front walkway. Dennis and his team installed a beautiful walkway to my front door--the detail is amazing. During the heaviest of rain the water drains perfectly so no wet feet for my guests! The old stone was used to create a path through my existing garden and fits perfectly between the roots and plants! Dennis came back this past summer to repair and replace my sod in the front yard. Another totally perfect job. Our neighborhood association hired Dennis to 'plant' boulders in our traffic circle along with a large tree. Dennis and his team are always professional and knowledgeable. I can't wait to hire Dennis again for my next project.

Dennis was VERY knowledgeable and professional in laying down the new zoysia grass. They even provided sprinklers for watering. I waited over 8 weeks to provide feedback to Service Magic in order to give a full retrospective after the sod had rooted. Well, I can honestly say the grass looks great! Lawn edging - some use bricks, other fake stones, we copied a neghbor and used wire fencing, all ugly, we got stone edging set in concrete chisleled to height and shape giving a matchine natural look to our granite boulder retaining wall for our otherwise sloping front yard. Requirements for aesthetics have been met with a permanent solution to have an edge devoid of artificiality of "Made in China" tackiness.

We hired Above the Hedges to make our yard beautiful and more child friendly. The work included new lawn, hardscaping, irrigation, some fences and deck work. Dennis handles everything the property, the weather, and Dekalb county threw at him; he's seen it all before! This was at the end of last summer and we won Yard of the Month in our neighborhood. Now that it's spring we're seeing everything bloom, some for the first time and might just win again! There was visible progress every day and we are pleased with everything from design to implementation.
